The tragic Los Angeles County fires of earlier this year have left tens of thousands of people homeless and/or penniless. The gravity of the tragedy can only be imagined by those who have never suffered such losses. My heart goes out to all those who suffered such losses. Also, my heart goes out to those who lost their lives or who lost loved ones to the fires. If you suffered tragic losses, you have my deepest sympathies. (I have a great many thoughts about why these fires happened as they did but that is the subject for another post on another page.)
For now, let me say that I am happy to offer mediation services to those who are making claims with – or who have filed litigation against – insurance companies. I will not charge any mediation fee of any kind to those who are the claimants – there has been enough suffering on their part. For more information, please feel free to contact me at southbayadr@gmail.com or 310-542-0111.
Please understand that while I will not charge mediation fees to those who suffered losses in the fires, I still remain “a neutral” and I have an ethical obligation to listen to both sides or “all sides” – if there are more than two – in attempting to help the parties reach an acceptable resolution. Insurance policies can be sophisticated things and there has to be a sensitivity to that issue as well.
My role as a mediator is to assist the parties in reaching a mutually satisfactory resolution of the dispute(s) that exist between or among them. I do not “take sides” but, of course, I remain sympathetic to the losses certain people have suffered.
I wish for all concerned the best possible outcome under these devastating circumstances and that true peace will be visited upon you.
